The workshop for high schools is a 3-week workshop that consists of 30 2-hour modules, half of which are on Language and the other on Culture. It aims to underscore the value of traditional knowledge, discuss aspects of Philippine culture and folklore teach introductory (Tagalog-based) Filipino (Tagalog) and hone critical thinking skills. The workshop includes interactive and creative activities using stories from folklore and bilingual multimedia materials. Students will be given a general introduction to Philippine history, language and culture. These modules are flexible so teachers may adapt and revise them according to student needs and teaching styles. Educators can opt to use only the Language Modules, on the Culture Modules, or mix and match them.

The workshop was piloted at the St. Louis High School on June 24 to July 12, 2019 with a small group of students. Due to the pandemic, the workshop was launched as an online workshop on the summer of 2021 with 12 students from Hawaii and the mainland. The modules were then reviewed and revised, and are available online for free on this website.
In partnership with Southville School and Colleges, Filipino and Foreign Languages Department-- Philippine Language and Culture Program conducted Pamana ng Lahi, a free online training course for educators on August 11-12, 2022. The speakers were Pia Arboleda (Critical Pedagogy and Creative Strategies for Teaching Philippine Literature and Culture), Jayson Parba (Foundations in Second Language Acquisition and their Pedagogical Implications in Teaching Filipino), and Precious Arao (Heritage Language Teaching). These Lectures are available on this website.

- Communicate basic information about themselves and their family using simple sentences and memorize expressions by describing places, object, and people, in written and spoken forms.
- Sustain and participate in basic conversation by understanding the main idea on familiar topics such as family and friends, places, the weather, leisure activities, and food.
- Write and narrate simple descriptions of past, future, and ongoing events.
- To demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of Philippine culture through written work, creative outputs and group discussions.
